CANADA(QUEBEC)
Quebec is the largest Canadian province in area, and the second largest in population.
Quebec is a mainly French-speaking society. The official language of Québec is French! This province is the second most populated province of Canada. This is because Quebec historically was a French settlement. This goes back to the colonial days. As Quebec joined other provinces to form the country Canada, it retained its linguistic freedom and continued to this day. From north to south, Quebec takes in three main geographical regions: the Canadian Shield, the St. Lawrence lowlands and the Appalachian Mountains. Extending from the shores of the Canadian Arctic to the Laurentians, the Canadian Shield covers about 60% of the land mass, and is the world's oldest mountain range. Permafrost reigns in the northern part of the Shield; only dwarf birches and lichen are able to grow. Québec was originally considered part of New France
