Dominica
Dominica is officially the Commonwealth of Dominica. Dominica has been nicknamed the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean“ for its unspoiled natural beauty. France formally ceded possession of Dominica to Great Britain in 1763. Great Britain then established a small colony on the island in 1805. In 1635, France claimed Dominica along with all the other 'Petite Antilles' but no settlement was attempted. In 1715, the French established their first permanent settlements in Dominica following a revolt of "poor white" smallholders in the north of Martinique, known as La Gaoule. Dominica, officially the Commonwealth of Dominica, is an island nation in the Lesser Antilles region of the Caribbean Sea, south-southeast of Guadeloupe and northwest of Martinique. The capital of Dominica Is Roseau. Dominica's national anthem is called Isle of Beauty,Isle of Splendour.
