MARTINIQUE

Like Guadeloupe, it is an overseas region of France. It consist of a single department. The north of the island is mountainous and lushly forested. The economy of Martinique is based on trade. Agriculture accounts for about 6% of GDP and the small industrial sector for 11%. An overseas département of France, Martinique's culture blends French and Caribbean influences. Martinique's capital is Fort-de-France. It's official language is the French language. This is because it was a French colony But they also speak Martinique creole(akin to the Haitian creole, but closer to French.) Martinique used to be ruled by France. People from Martinique speak French,but they don't speak proper french, they actually speak a mix language called French creole language.
